Hey y'all!
My name is Erin McCown (Ms. McCown to my students) and I teach 8th grade Mathematics at Ruston Junior High in Ruston, Louisiana. The 2012-2013 school year will be my first year to teach and I am ecstatic to share my love of math with my students. I personally believe that every student has the ability to enjoy math, they just need to be shown how to do so. To me, that only comes from a compassionate teacher and I plan to be that person for my students.
I started this blog to share my ideas regarding classroom decor, lesson plans, my struggles and triumphs as a teacher and everything in between. I will do my best to include the majority, if not everything, that I use in my classroom (pictures where applicable). I want my blog to be a source of the truth pertaining to the teaching profession from the good things to the bad things.
I have included a link to my Pinterest page where I have a board specifically containing teaching ideas that I am collecting.
Through this blog, I want to teach as well as learn. Please feel free to email or comment with questions, comments, and suggestions. As a first year teacher, I am open to how-tos, tips, and anything else y'all can provide and I hope to include at least a little bit of something you can use in your own classroom.
Enjoy!
Hi! Ran into your blog via Pinterest; I am going into my second year of teaching (Baton Rouge, LA). I couldn't find any posts past your first days, just wondering what new things you incorporated into your classroom.
ReplyDeleteI hope all went well :)
